Tattoo News - September Update 2007

ON THE WEB

Maori artist, Theresa Reihana has a great onling gallery at http://www.maoriartist.com/index.html There are no tattoos, but some beautiful paintings that include them.

Another exhibition of contemporary Pacific art is online-- see http://www.pasifikastyles.org.uk/index.php - this is pretty cool stuff!

George Nuku's moko is beautifully documented by our friend Serena Stevenson'snew website: http://www.serenastevenson.com/documentary/ta_moko/index.html

IN MAINLAND CALIFORNIA

The San Diego Pacific Islander Festival is Sept. 22 & 23rd at Ski Beach near SeaWorld. See http://www.pifasandiego.com/ for more details. Look for me in the Cultural Booths Area (I'm usually set up near the big booth with the blue tarps in the center to the park). Even if you are not anywhere near S CA, the website is worth looking at, as it has great clips of dance from many of the various island groups.

TATTOO DESIGN WORK

A great artist & friend, Michael Lothian, has his website up & running and is now available to create unique, custom tattoo designs at a very reasonable price. I often get requests to do art only, but I do not have time. If you have contacted me in the past, sorry, this is your chance! He is knowledgable in many of the various islands styles and can create something for you with your desired meaning and personal symbolism. See http://www.sunsetstudio.org/

TATTOO SCHEDULE

I will be at Momilani's Island Traditions in Oceanside from Sept 15 - Oct 1st (with the exception of Sept 22 & 23rd I'm at the festival-- see above). My schedule is full, however I do keep a wait list in case of cancellations. Please call me at (510) 802-2155, or simply stop by Momilani's in Oceanside. See http://tattootraditions.alohaworld.com/tattootraditions/schedule.htm

My next CA trip will be to the SF area only in late Nov. through early Dec. I will return to all three mainland cities in Feb/Mar of next year.

Aloha,
Tricia
