ON THE WEB

If you are interested in art and copyright, an interesting situation has arisen in Hawai'i.

The issue is whether Kim Taylor Reese can hold copyright on a hula pose. See http://www.kgmb9.com/kgmb/display.cfm?storyID=9549

http://starbulletin.com/2006/11/03/news/story04.html and the most recent article:

There have been numerous previous cases instigated by Reese, so Vicki Takamine Holt is leading quite a battle.

I've recently rekindled my love for Bobo (as well as other African) art. There is a good website at

One of the most interesting heavily tattooed individuals I've come to know in my travels is Bruno Loyale of Circus Bruno in Samoa, In addition to wearing some
beautiful Polynesian tattoos (including a pe'a), Bruno is quite the talented Circus Master. see a short video clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwncJz-JGMM
