As many of you know, I have been working on a new book on Polynesian tattoo—this time on the art today. The book will be months in production & not on the shelves until about March of next year, but in the meantime, I’ll be listing some of the contributing tattooists websites in my newsletters. KAI&I Radio will be broadcasting an interview with myself and Maori tattooist Tane Lagah on Pacific tattoo on Sat. June 13th from 10 am to noon… repeating on Monday the 15th from 11 am to 1 pm. Listen in! KAI&I Radio is an online radio station that is dedicated to delivering the new, the classic, and the best in Island Style Music—Reggae/Roots. Another great Pacific website that includes online radio is Jane’s Oceania at http://www.janeresture.com/ This is an amazing source… I have often marveled at the compilation of information here. It is well worth spending a bit of time browsing.
Tattoonesia, the Tahiti tattoo festival will be happening again Nov. 11-15 on the main island of Tahiti just outside Papeete. Their official website is up & running, but does not have a lot of details yet. See http://www.tattoonesia.blogspot.com I will try to keep all informed as things develop.
Maori Tattooist Tane Lagah will be in LA and is available for appointments. Tane will be doing consultations the weekend of June 13th & 14th (feel free to stop by!), and will start tattooing Tues the 16th through Wed the 23th. I am there tattooing June 13 - 24 & have some limited availability. Come on in!
